Back in 2023, Democrazy, VIERNULVIER and Kunstmest invited Annahstasia to the Ghent Botanical Garden (GUM) for the Palmarium concert series. It was immediately clear that this Nigerian-American singer-songwriter was a talent to watch. Her warm, soulful sound is reminiscent of icons like Nina Simone, Bill Withers and Janis Joplin. Although her music is regularly described as R&B, it is rooted deeper in the folk tradition, with the classic singer-songwriter as its inspiration.
She has released a couple of hard-hitting EPs and has had the opportunity to open for Lenny Kravitz. Meanwhile, her debut album, Tether, is about to be released. Recording took place at the legendary Valentine Studios in Los Angeles.
