Zuiderwind is a swinging Flemish / South African mix. Jo Van Driessche and Wouter Vandenabeele, known for “Olla Vogala”, invited six South Africans to give the best of Olla Vogala an African touch. Conversely, South African classics are also taken into Flemish hands. The program therefore includes both township jazz and gospel. This exuberant opener of the evening immediately creates the right atmosphere so that you can then focus all your energy on the tree ball. A name that is mentioned in the same breath as boombals is Balbrozijn. It is the “ball version” of Ambrozijn, the group that will celebrate its tenth anniversary at the Handelsbeurs on December 23. Balbrozijn is one of the best, if not the best ball group in Belgium. They launch their music into the room with so much enthusiasm and verve that you spontaneously start dancing. Because an evening like this should never end, a closing event will be provided by DJs Klaas & Klesie. No quiet, rippling final act, but world music, pop and disco until you can no longer stand on your feet!
