Bl!ndman & Danel Kwartet

The starting point of the program presented by the saxophone quartet Bl!ndman and the Danel String Quartet is 'LOVE in, Doppelquartett with Henry'. This is a tribute to Henry Purcell who commissioned deSingel from the German composer Helmut Oehring. Oehring was raised by deaf parents, resulting in a strange relationship with the phenomena of sound and language. Danel and Bl!ndman weave a beautiful matrix around this work: three fantasias by Purcell, set for octet, a 'pure' string quartet and ditto saxophone quartet by Oehring and finally the word-playing 'Gestimmtseit' that Eric Sleichim, founder of Bl!ndman, also wrote. wrote for this occasion.
