Ben Weaver

Ben Weaver finds a home as a songwriter in a list of like-minded people such as Renee Sparks of The Handsome Family, Scott Matthew and Jolie Holland. His sixth album, 'The Ax In The Oak', was recently released on the German quality label Glitterhouse. With producer Brian Deck he shares a preference for the sparkling, electronic pop of Austrian musician Christian Fennesz. This gave Weaver's songs a fairly experimental mise en scene. The light electronic elements complement the sincere lyrics and soft voice perfectly. Ben Weaver does not write his songs in the typical verse-chorus-verse form. Rather, they are small stories about birds, telephone booths, empty parking garages, strangers in queues, ... This concert will be an intimate evening on the thin line between melancholy and romance. It is also the only concert in the Benelux, so hurry to Ghent to see it!
