BELCEA QUARTET, ANGELIKA KIRCHSCHLAGER & SIMON LEPPER

Charm, elegance and a heavenly beautiful voice have made the Austrian mezzo-soprano Angelika Kirchschlager one of the most coveted voices of her generation made. She has built up an impressive opera list alongside other world-famous performers such as Diana Damrau and Simon Keenlyside. Nevertheless, she feels most at home in the Song repertoire, where she can express herself in the subtlest nuances of the voice. With the Belcea Quartet, which previously performed with Ann Murray and Ian Bostridge, she feels like a fish in water. The four string players - from Romania, Poland, England and France - have been a quartet since they met at London's Royal College of Music in 1994. The fact that they are now among the top quartet performers is evident from the list of renowned musicians with whom they have made reference recordings. have made, including members of the Alban Berg and Arditti Quartet. Together with Simon Lepper, lieder pianist and chamber music giant, Kirchschlager and Belcea Quartet treat us to moving vocal chamber music by Ernest Chausson and Ottorino Respighi.
