Banda Azufaifo is a 33-piece orchestra that combines brass band instruments with Catalan folk instruments. Two years ago, on June 25, 2004 to be precise, they played their very first concert at the Handelsbeurs. On June 24, 2006, the Banda will be on our stage again, with two years of experience and a live CD richer! “Dead Slow” is a compilation of highlights from their repertoire. With this concert you will be treated to a live presentation of this brand new album. Dick van der Harst, resident composer at LOD and band leader, combines medieval and Renaissance music, traditional songs and marches. No tunes to doze off to, but music that is as close to the people as possible, moving and passionate.
