Bringing great soloists and their egos together doesn’t necessarily make for a successful marriage. But violinists Antje Weithaas and Daniel Sepec, viola player Tabea and cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras have proved just the opposite for over ten years. And when Jörg Widmann, the grand master of the clarinet, joins the Arcanto Quartet, we know we’re in for one of the highlights of the concert season.

There are three amazing masterpieces on the programme, too, by three composers who, towards the end of their careers, took stock and finished up in unexpected regions. Abstraction meets profound emotion in music that leaves no one unmoved.
