Thanks to her phenomenal voice and charisma, Ana Moura is considered the greatest fadista of her generation and is skilled in traditional as well as modern fado. According to her, it is a constant challenge for contemporary fado singers to discover modern poets who give voice to the sentiments of the current generation.

Raised by parents who practiced fado themselves, Moura performed on stage from a very early age already. She explored other genres on several occasions, but always returned to her first love.

In her home country of Portugal, Moura fills the biggest concert venues. Her album ‘Leva-me aos Fados’ reached platinum status and is one of the ten best-selling records in Portugal. In the Handelsbeurs she treats us to ‘Desfado’, her latest release. We are thrilled to welcome her again after her last visit almost six years ago.
