Alexi Murdoch

In the late 1990s, Scottish folk artist Alexi Murdoch moved to Los Angeles; his sleepy folk sound was mixed with indie and lo-fi. In 2002 his career gained momentum: his first EP 'Four Songs' was released, a radio show created a buzz among listeners and labels. One of the four songs from Four Songs, 'Orange Sky', was picked up by the American television industry. This will ring a bell for fans of Prison Break, The O.C. and House.

Alexi's second release, his debut album 'Time Without Consequence' was so enthusiastically received by the leading magazine Rolling Stone that he was included in the 'Top Ten Artist To Watch' list. This did not go unnoticed by director Sam Mendes. He had the soundtrack for his film Away We Go largely written by Alexi Murdoch, together with other greats such as Bob Dylan, George Harrison, The Stranglers and The Velvet Underground. The successful story was followed up at the beginning of this year with a second album: 'Towards The Sun'. Guest musicians such as Jon Natchez and Kelly Pratt from Beirut and Kyle Resnick from The National. Enough reasons to invite this man to us!
