The French pianist Alain Planès hardly needs an introduction. He made his name as solo pianist of Pierre Boulez's Ensemble Intercontemporain, where he collaborated with composers such as Ligeti, Stockhausen and Berio. His recordings of work by Janáček, Debussy and Haydn for Harmonia Mundi have become references. In 2009 the CD 'Chopin Chez Pleyel' was released, for which Planès reconstructed Chopin's concert practice and playing style. He based it on a number of concerts that the composer gave in the salons of piano builder Pleyel. For this award-winning recording, Planès played a Pleyel piano from 1837. As usual, we introduce a young musician to our country on time. Alain Planès brings the Israeli pianist and composer Matan Porat. He is only 28, but is widely regarded as one of the strongest creative forces from the young generation of musicians in Europe. Daniel Barenboim is an excellent reference: “I know Matan Porat since he was 18. He is extremely gifted, both as a pianist and as a composer and I can warmly recommend him to anyone.” On this unique recital with two pianos you will hear well-known works by great composers in a new form.
