65DAYSOFSTATIC
English band 65daysofstatic has been around for more than 10 years and isn’t planning to call it a day anytime soon. Ever since their debut-EP Stumble.Stop.Repeat (2003), they have been touring around the world and played as a support act for the likes of The Cure (for which they made four remarkable remixes). Their debut album The Fall of Math was released on Monotreme records to universal acclaim, including Drowned in Sound, who gave them a well-deserved 9 out of 10. No wonder then that they received the ‘Hardest Working Band’ award at the AIM Awards last year.
This four piece from Sheffield made its Belgian live debut in 2006, during their first European tour. You can tell that they love performing, and the collective music press agrees that their live shows are nothing short of magnificent.
The single 'Don't Go Down to Sorrow', from their third album The Destruction of Small Ideas, won international acclaim as the theme song of the Amnesty International campaign. In their fourth album, We Were Exploding Anyway, the group deviates from their original post-rock sound towards more synths and electronics.
"Noisy or electronic, ‘We Were Exploding Anyway’ has rekindled the old flame with its unabashed power and inexorable sonic passion." - Drowned In Sound
"65daysofstatic have grasped hitherto unimagined opportunities, capitalized on experiences and brought an eclectic yet huge arsenal with which to entice newcomers and open-minded, veteran travelers." - BBC Music
65daysofstatic is currently working on a new album, which they will present to us and the rest of the world in September.
