A TASTY MUSICAL MIX FOR OVER 10 YEARS
How do musicians celebrate their anniversary? By organising a grand concert with all their friends. The Rhythm Junks will bring a mix of jazz, pop, rock, funk, soul and blues to the stage together with four musical guests. With their usual finesse, they play an outstanding mix as well as a more traditional recipe of catchy grooves, solid harmonies and great rhythms.
Starting out ten years ago as a band of seven, The Rhythm Junks now include three main members. Frontman and musical bastard son of Toots Thielemans Steven De bruyn is joined by bass player Jasper Hautekiet (Admiral Freebee, The Bony King of Nowhere) and drummer Tony Gyselinck (The Pebbles, Toots Thielemans, Dave Pyke). After having released three successful records, and thanks to their unmatched reputation for live performances, they have been everywhere: from Belgian music festivals such as North Sea Jazz, Ghent Jazz, and Dour Festival, to festivals in Nairobi, Shanghai and Japan. On this celebratory night, they will be joined on stage by Marie Daulne from Zap Mama, Filip Casteels from El Fish, American guitarist Eugene Chadbourne, singer Mariana Tootsie and The Rhythm Junks Horns. A smashing concert, guaranteed!
