Small stories and moves big on stage

Villa Voortman is a unique meeting place in Ghent, where special people come together every day. Art and care go hand in hand. It is a sanctuary for spontaneous creative development, where collaborations with artists are the starting point.

After previous musical, visual, theatrical and literary projects, 'Portraits' is a new artistic step. In this fragile choreographic performance, a dozen movement solos merge into a harmonious whole. Each dance fragment is accompanied live by a different musician, making each moment special and intense.

This extraordinary creation is the result of an artistic dialogue between performer, musician and choreographer. In this way, Villa Voortman continues to build a house that is never finished - always in motion, always open.
