‘A playful interaction between ancient nature and contemporary electronics,’ is how Hans Beckers calls his Florestita. This wondrous installation not only looks impressive, it sounds so too. A bunch of adventurous musicians interact with it and make you listen more carefully. That's not always easy, because in a world where there is mostly noise, you no longer hear the fine details.
Hans Beckers created a robotic beast full of shells, leaves and seeds that crawl through the air like snakes. Rustling, tinkling and rustling, as if you were walking through a primeval forest. Opposite are musicians with synthesisers and drum computers, soundscapes and samples. Everything moves and interacts with each other. Prick up your ears and be amazed.
