Het goed geoliede volpe is a trio from Ghent around pianist Heleen Andriessen. Together with drummer Stijn Demuynck and bassist Kobe Boon, they create sophisticated compositions in which lyricism and groove alternate. Their second album "elsewhere" will be released on November 25th on W.E.R.F. Records.
The music sounds like an escape into Andriessen's head, to a place where the mundane bursts into melancholy, beauty and alienation. Repetitive piano patterns, wrenching harmonies and lingering melodies find a warm and quirky counterbalance in playful drums and layered bass parts.
During their tour of South Korea, a fan blogged the following quote: "그 어떤 코드에도 안주하지 않고, 끊임없이 부유하는 멜로디는 종국에 이르러 묘하게도 중독적인 증상을 뇌리에 심어주었다. "Which translates to "The melody, which has something intangible about it, has created a strange addiction in my mind. That promises!
