Thomas Noël and Wouter Vandenabeele first crossed paths in the dark 90s, in the underground folk scene. Since then, they continue to find each other in all kinds of projects, each now with a backpack full of music and experiences from all over the world.
With The Chai Connection they travel with mostly their own compositions from Sephardic music from Greece and the Balkans, via sentimental waltzes and bluesy grooves to Brazilian Forros and oriental songs.
Plaintive violin and fat piano sounds complement them with the driving guitar of Jeroen Knaepen and colorful percussion grooves of Canadian François Taillefer. At this Foyer Matinee, they will present their first album.
