Spiritual chamber music and jazz

FNUSSJEN is the project of Belgian percussionist Nicolas Chkifi, who combines a unique instrumentation with meditative jazz, folklore and experimentation. At the request of Bozar and Ha he has invited Norwegian trumpeter Arve Henriksen and American double bass player Thomas Morgan, two dream musicians who fit perfectly into his sonic universe.

FNUSSJEN slows down the pace and gives the listener a real access to the music. With an unusual line-up of harp, violin, piano and percussion, he creates intimate miniatures that flow into each other through improvisation.

The music is quiet, spiritual, sometimes magical, but always intense. The arrival of Arve Henriksen and Thomas Morgan takes this unique sound to the next level: subdued, tender and extraordinarily compelling.
