Our Artist in Residence Nabou Claerhout presents her brand new international quartet. It is an exceptional jazz formation with four different band leaders.

EABS: 'Reflections of Purple Sun'

The band Electro Acoustic Beat Sessions (EABS) - named after the club night where this Polish quintet originated - fuses electro and jazz.

With a bold interpretation, they breathe new life into "Purple Sun," the iconic album by Polish jazz legend Tomasz Stańko. Coming almost 50 years after the original recording, this tribute takes you on a rhythmic and spiritual journey through Stańko's musical legacy, with influences from ambient, techno, and deep grooves.

How did the Claerhout quartet come about?

English bassist David Bowden, Luxembourg drummer Michel Meis and Belgian trombonist Nabou Claerhout met for the first time during the Criss Cross project.

Their musical chemistry was immediately apparent. And there was more! Scottish saxophonist Norman Willmore joined the band. An energetic journey.
